Red Sift OnDMARC Becomes the Exclusive DMARC Provider to Cisco Customers

We’re excited to announce yet another significant achievement in Red Sift’s journey as Red Sift OnDMARC has been named Cisco’s exclusive Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance (DMARC) offering as part of its SolutionsPlus program. Together we’re the modern choice for organizations looking to protect themselves from exact domain impersonation and phishing attacks.

This endorsement from one of the world’s largest security providers both validates Red Sift as the leading enterprise solution for DMARC and signals an intensified need for enterprise-grade email security and authentication, especially as bad actors leverage generative AI to launch increasingly convincing attacks.

An intensified need for enterprise-grade email security and authentication

Email has been the most common form of business communication for years and it remains the number one threat vector used by cybercriminals to attempt attacks like business email compromise (BEC), phishing, account takeovers and domain spoofing.

According to Verizon’s 2023 Data Breach Investigations Report, phishing is the leading cause of confirmed data breaches and represents 44% of all social engineering attacks. Forrester has similar statistics, naming BEC attacks as a top five cybersecurity threat of 2023. Notably, Forrester also recommends that enterprises “use protocols like DMARC to reduce the likelihood of employee interaction with social engineering messages by reducing domain spoofing.”

And we’ve already seen industry giants respond to these findings and recommendations. In October, Google and Yahoo each announced new sets of requirements for email delivery, signaling a seismic shift in email security and ensuring global inboxes are safer through the enforcement of industry-acknowledged best practices.

Starting February 2024, the two companies will require organizations to implement email authentication protocols – notably DMARC – in order to ensure email delivery to inboxes without being filtered or blocked. In essence, this is the realization of the notion of “no authentication, no entry” that has been talked about for years in the email space to help prevent unwanted mail from reaching the inbox.

Failure to comply with these requirements means that emails sent to Gmail and Yahoo inboxes will not be delivered. When considering the sheer number of enterprises that rely on email communication for their operations, there may be severe implications for non-compliant businesses, and we expect other mailbox providers to follow Google and Yahoo’s lead as well.

The email security industry and market for DMARC has evolved immensely over the past few years and the needs and expectations of today’s enterprises have simultaneously evolved.

An enterprise-grade DMARC solution

We are at an inflection point in security with the influx of generative AI and the signal of where an email truly comes from matters more than ever. To protect their businesses, security-forward enterprises are prioritizing email security and have identified DMARC implementation as a key foundation and pillar of email authentication.

With Red Sift OnDMARC, enterprises can simplify the complexities of the DMARC email security protocol by automating processes and providing clear instructions on how to block unauthorized use of an organization’s domain. OnDMARC is also the only platform with an integrated solution for implementing the Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI) standard, which combines strong email authentication using DMARC with Verified Mark Certificates (VMCs) to enable a sender to display their trusted logo in their customer’s inbox for email identification and security.

Red Sift OnDMARC is available now in the Cisco SolutionsPlus Ecosystem Exchange and on the Cisco Global Price List. You can also read Cisco’s latest blog on the importance of email security and how they are helping clients rise to the challenge.

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has suggested a change to Mail Check services starting on 24 March 2025. This change mainly involves ending DMARC aggregate reporting. This change comes as a measure to expand the services provided by Mail Check to any UK based organisation, while also limiting the cost and complexity of…

Beyond DMARC: How Red Sift OnDMARC supports comprehensive DNS hygiene

Red Sift

Registrable domains and DNS play a crucial role in establishing online identity and trust, but their importance is often taken for granted. During new service setups, record updates are often overlooked, accumulating outdated entries. As infrastructure teams become increasingly overstretched,  services may be incorrectly shut down without proper cleanup, leaving behind a sprawl of…

First look at DKIM2: The next generation of DKIM

Red Sift

In 2011, the original DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM1) standard was published. It outlined a method allowing a domain to sign emails, enabling recipients to verify that the email originated from an entity holding a private key that matches the public key published in the domain’s DNS records. Now in 2024, DKIM is ready for…

Securing our world: For a safer internet

Jack Lilley

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a time for industries to unite in promoting digital security within today’s complex landscape. Bad actors are leveraging increasingly sophisticated methods—such as email phishing and Business Email Compromise (BEC)—to exploit vulnerabilities, impersonate legitimate contacts, and access sensitive information. CISA Director Jen Easterly advises us to “always think before you…
